i also tio.. since this is a worldwide recall, as long as our VIN is there, it should be affected too.
Supposedly, (according to other jag forums) The good news is, just because your VIN is there doesn't mean you're screwed or driving a lemon car.
They just have to CHECK the vehicles within the specified VIN numbers to ensure that this problem does/does not exist in our vehicle, which means, once wearnes get the news, we should get our rides inspected ASAP by them to eliminate ourselves from the problem category.
My service guy ran my VIN through their internal system (universal JLR platform) and it showed that my car isn't affected... He even sent me a screenshot of it... Nonetheless, he will inform me should the need arise for my car to be sent in... I suggest the rest of you driving 2.2diesels - with the VIN in that range - check directly with your service folks for a specific response...
Bros, FYI . My SE checked for me and my car is part of the batch. Basically as long as you don't smell fuel it's ok. Anyway he's gonna give it a once over to make sure all is ok.
My SE advised that the problem doesn't affect all cars within the VIN range, so it's advisable to drive in and have them checked to be sure that yours is not affected.
I reckon that my recall is for a replacement of the faulty part(s)... Was hoping for a replacement with a brand new car but seriously, not much details yet... My service guy just said to come in on Monday because they got updates from UK on my VIN...

So how? They replacing your car to an XFR?
XFR my foot lah!!!
They're checking the car now... Most likely just a replacement of the fuel rail... Failure rate is only 4% of the total recall though...
