Interest Check : Spires Twin & Quad Exhaust for 2.2D
Permalink

Hi guys,

i'm doing a poll to see how many is interested to change the exhaust.

Will talk to Spires to do the TUV approval if we have the number.

This is the rough price : £1080 for the quad and £350 for the twin excluding shipping and installation

I put in the first vote, I believe

Concerned about losing the low end so probably won't go with quads (although I must say it looks very good)... I'm not sure if there would be a difference in the sound produced from both exhausts?

chiaster, i think not much problem or minimal issue with the quads, since the midpipe is maintained.. just that it split into 2 pipes.
the quads definitely look good, but the thought that i'll need to change the valence as well puts me off the idea.. :(

Does anyone know if it's a simple change of the rear valence to accommodate the quads or do we have to swap out a whole new different rear bumper?

Bro Spyder79, I'm interested but just wondering..any tuning required after changing to the quads? How's the sound level like? Would you by any chance know if we need to change or modify the bumper to fit the extra pipes?...tks for checking this option out by the way.biggrin

If so, then the quads might be a good option... Only trade-off is you lose the already weak low-end...

So i can safely presume if the project go thru, the total cost of changing to quad exhaust should be around $3k+-

Thereabouts once you factor in shipping and the exchange rate, not forgetting the installation for the exhaust as well...

hi bro, care to share which part the 800+ was for? only the diffuser valence (part 5) (means your original was part 6) or did you need to change part 2 to part 4 as well?

i never believe wearnes to be cheap, i think (correct me if i'm wrong) the 800+ was for part 5 and spray+labour nia?

Bro spyder79, was looking at the undercarriage picture you posted. Doesn't look like there's a heat shield for the left pipe. Something perhaps that needs to be addressed and factored for pricing. Don't think LTA will approve without the heat shield.

you're right doesn't have the heat shield.. but i doubt LTA would bother about this.. their primary concern is the paperwork and approvals from the manufacturer, secondary concern is sound emissions.

Brudder Spyder, any idea if Spires have anything for my XKR? My exhaust note considered meek in front of brudder Gtan's Arden exhaust... This morning met him at MBSGC and he revved it up for me... Ear oil also came out...
