Easy lah... Dongdaemun shopping. Do a lazy afternoon chill at Han River side, do nothing but watch people pass by.
Lotte World also not bad vs Everland... (if your kids are into themeparks).
Makan - 3 things I always do whenever I go Korea:
1) BBQ Giant Clams - You can smell these from a street away. Just follow the bbq smell, it'll lead you to the shop. The roadside stalls' smell best!
2) Korean Lok-Lok - Just walk on any busy Seoul streets and guarantee there'll be pushcarts selling traditional Korean "lok-lok". The trick is to eat it like locals, eat the skews HOT and "hor hor hor" with steam coming out of your mouth in the cold weather... Shiokness 10/10! Drink the soup base...
3) Ja Jang Myun - Many people went S.Korea and came back without eating this, and claimed to have visited Korea. They don't know what they missed... Yes you can find this in foodcourts or restaurants, but the REAL JJM has to be eaten in a traditional JJM stall! Think of those old old Tiong Bahru coffeeshops that only sell Fishball Noodles or Wanton Mee and NOTHING ELSE... A traditional JJM stall that sell home-cooked Ja Jang Myun is an experience itself... You can ask a local or your hotel reception.
~ Must try authentic Korean BBQ as well. Those you can find in Singapore but eaten in Seoul, it taste different! Especially when u go with So Ju in their traditional small cups...
Yes it's safe, it's a controlled guided tour. You get to see the boarder, tunnel but don't take photos secretly when there are sign boards warning you not to. It's a trip you will not regret going...
Amac, please don't take any photos... Tell your family too... If they see you with their binoculars doing it, next moment you know, bullets and missiles would be flying towards you... Dun praeh praeh ah...
Amac, if you are also a korean drama fan you may also wish to visit Gyeong Bok Gung... its their grand palace. Not comparable to forbidden city in beijing in size but its a nice venue to add to ur list.

Oh Amac, you can be assured that it will be cold in Seoul at that time. Wind is kinda strong in the city. I travel to Seoul for work 3-4 times a year, esp like it during winter time. My trip's nov 12-15.
If u got spare time should also try the ski resort (Yeong Peong or something like tt), Jejuis also wonderful, go see 大长今 . There's a wild life tiger park which is also interesting.
