2014 Jaguar XF gets new 2.2 ECO2 turbodiesel engine

Model year 2014 Jaguar XF will get an updated version of the base 2.2 litre turbodiesel engine in the current range. The new ECO2 engine runs cleaner while using less fuel, but retains the full 163 PS and 400 Nm as before. Also new for MY14 XFs is a refreshed sat-nav unit with more search options, a smart keyboard input as well as two new exterior colours.

 

The Ford-sourced engine now gets enhanced with larger exhaust gas circulation valves and a revised cooling assembly. CO2 emissions are reduced by six grammes per kilometre to just 129 g/km, enough to move it to a lower tax band in Europe. Economy too has improved from 19.6 km per litre to 20.4 km/L, while its 10.5-second 0-100 km/h time is unchanged.

hmmmmmm... my current 2.2D is 200PS with 450nm... this is a MY article.. so are the different batches tuned differently?

    The 2.2 litre i4 200 Turbocharged Diesel engine provides tremendous power with 4 cylinder economy. The 8-speed electronic automatic transmission and Intelligent Stop/Start with Twin Solenoid Starter help to reduce emissions and make this the most efficient Jaguar ever. 

    - Power: 200PS
    - Torque: 450Nm 
    - Acceleration: 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds (0-60 mph in 8.0 seconds)
    - Fuel consumption (combined cycle): 5.2-5.1 l/100km (54.3-55.4mpg) (5.1 and 55.4 applies to 17" and above wheels)
    - CO2 emissions: 135-139 g/km (135 applies to 17" wheels 139 applies to 18" and above wheels)

The local ones are all 200horses and 450nm torque...
