Hi everyone,

Newbie here.

Just to check, anyone encounter error reading video file (avi format) from usb? The car is stationary.

I haven't actually plugged into the auxiliary socket in the center arm rest box...

You USB must be FAT32 if i remember correctly.

for USB yes fat32 .. tried ntfs before and it didn't work.

I think it is the codec that the player is missing. The avi is from my in car dvr, which is in h264 compression.

avi is the container, it could have different video codec (mp4, h264, etc) is yours a sat nav set?

nice! wonder how much does it cost / what it takes to upgrade to the satnav, is it just a module add on (I saw a dvd module), or the whole display screen needs to be changed. sorry for the OT.

 

PS: for you, maybe you download a avi that uses mpeg2/4 codec and see whether you can play. Some player doesn't even recognise avi container, so if you can play .mp4 video but not avi with mp4 codec then you know your answer :)

mine is a 2.0T, SE told me the only diff between 2.2D and 2.0T is the smart start/stop vs GPS. Hence, I thot all xf will have video module?

I think only the 2.2 diesel has the Eco start/stop function? Yes? No?

yes only 2.2 has the ECO start/stop. I thought only 3.0 has GPS!

2.0T comes with GPS, without ECO start/start.
2.2D comes with ECO start/stop, without GPS.
This is the only diff between the two models, told by the SE.

So I thot all are supposed to have video module. No?

mine standard... was ready stock from warehouse.. sept 2012 230k coe cat e 89k

and not special indent as i had choice of colors etc.
