Hey guys, daniel here. Currently driving a jaguar xf s 2011 model. bought it from wearners, used it for nearly 1 year and a half and the motor popped. Jaguar took the car for nearly 2 months to change the motor. they said it was a new engine but they dont know the reason it died. One of the reasons was using malaysian diesel? i do alot fo KL - SGP driving, so wearners jaguar told me not to put malaysian diesel. How am i going to come back from KL then?? HAHA WELL since the change, the car still has not been running fine, loud whistle sound when i accelerate, car idles roughly.
would u guys know any other specialists jaguar workshop other then the dealer? i would also want to retune my car using the DTK software plug n play from the uk. Is that advisable?
also where do i get bodykits and after market brakes, suspension for this model? any other xfs users with modifications on?
well would love to hear from you guys, the car has been stock for so long, time to play with it. any advice etc and workshops to go to have my car looked at and get advise on before i return to wearners jaguar and screw them up for the poor quality work on the car.
hahaha well mayb coz they have weared me out dealing with them. where do u do ur service and hav u tuned ur car or modded anything? any info on workshops etc i can check out? good idea to buy tuning box?
Ha ha I should guessed looking at your username, but good to be sure. For XFS, there are euro 4 as well as euro 5 models around. If yours is euro 5 then it can take half tank mixed msia diesel at most. Anything else spells trouble. If euro 4 then should not be big issue. But still prolong msia diesel is not advisable due to the high sulphur content. That's what I know.
Mine is still under warranty so it is still back to Leng Kee. Well there are options but not many. Sure can discuss more but over kopi lah.
haha all good bro. shud be euro 5 but i will recheck when i go down to leng kee again and asked them about the new engine they put in mine.
same mine is still under warranty but thought of at least changing the wheels etc. you know any shops who do bodykits for xfs? thought of mayb putting a front lip and rear diffuser, looks too bare imho.

my 2 cents, fix ALL the issues first, ensure no other funny problems, then think about modding.. else whatever "warranty" you may have had from the new engine is gone once u start the mods.. and it wont be cheap to rectify if without warranty.. i don't think msia diesel will kill the engine. it'll just maybe kill the DPF.

If euro5, not more than half tank of up-north diesel at any one time... Chairman's euro4 has no issues and can take one full tank of that... Mine is euro5 though...
chaster - awesome....if you could provide me contact for the shop. yeah sounds good would be great to meet up with you guys. so for the 3.0v6 theres both euro 4 and euro 5?
I am also driving the XFS.
If the diesel particulate filter have problem due to the Malaysian diesel, it should have a warning light first and not the whole engine suddenly bye bye.
hey guys thanks for all the info. yeah totally understand the part where i shud get the car running perfectly hence a trip down to leng kee and telling em off one final time, trust me i so cant be bothered to go down there, its always gona take very long and when i get the car back, its nearly the same condition i left it. thanks for the info guys, lets meet sooon.
