Just studying the under-carriage...looks like 2.2D's has on 1 cat and a rear muffler...interesting!

So to gain some sound...its a change of the muffler that's it.

The Spires one (Gan's post in the other thread) seems like the only one that is available aftermarket for the 2.2D...

Apparently yes...hopefully Gan can find out more options to give fellow 2.2D more choices.

The Spires unit does look good, only thing is no DB record to know what sould level one would be expecting.

I don't care as long as it's bassy and louder than stock! Hahaha

I think most after markets will be better sounding than stock for sure...how loud and type of sound is a big question lor.

Side plants do sound bad...picture a civic with a side plant...its all noise...not those controlled quality sound.

lol.. sideplants are real bad ass sound.. haha.. that'll scare the **** out of people. for sure.

there is another version.. VAREX muffler that can turn a muffler from a quiet to straight thru type (and any amount in between) at just a flick of a button.

so you get all the peace and quiet you want from a stock muffler, and if u want some exhaust sound, can also. there are some youtube videos of people who have done both (sideplants and VAREX) if you guys are interested.

Hi all,

New to this forum. Just ordered my new XF 2.2D and couldn't wait for my delivery in Aug. Like to check if any of you has 'lobang' for the following:

1. Spray painting of rims & calipers (tot of respraying the Lyra rims to black wif red calipers);
2. performance upgrade (anyone done it and from where? seemed limited choices from the internet)
3. exhaust (icebear, does the 'R' muffler you ordered fit? Cost? Anyone installed VAREX and feedback?)

Thanks
fchung

Congrats to your new ride. Do join us on our GTG this coming 5th July. you might want to look at Chiaster's ride which is the same as yours. He did quite a bit of mode to his ride.

Welcome, fchung :)

My mods are confined to cosmetics and handling so far. Would like to do more but you're right about the limited viable options.

Do join us on 5th July and have all your queries answered.

Cheers :)
