I'm still contemplating of adding an amp to mine. Workshop suggest that i should stay away until warranty expires.
a member suggested i add a battery to drive it so as not to tap into the build-in car batt.

Relatively troublesome adding a battery to run the amp...gonna be kinda taking up space.

Wonder if Wearnes will have anything to say about adding an amp...for some reason I think they would sadly.

i spoke to my SA, she has absolutely no idea at all. Then i ask a service guy. His advice is to keep stock as it could interfere their main ECU.

Hmm... tempting. Next time I go Wearnes, I will check too. Will update if I get additional info.

The biggest problem when the ECU is too smart...there is no room to improve or spend money sometimes.

Just done an upgrade last weekend together with some friends i met at auto show. Unlike other make, Jags are very sensitive. Tried a few times but no luck and finally the only upgrade i can do is to get another 2 channel amp for sub and upgrade speaker.... Good thing is warranty is still covered but bad thing is, it doesnt make much difference when playing classical musics...

Done it at a shop in Serangoon Gardens... forgot about the name, it starts with C... (near the old paramount building).

MelvinL we need to meet to listen! I asked Wearnes if there is any option to upgrade my sound system and the answer came back as no.

Does it void the warranty? I have upgraded mine. The ang mo at the serive centre said that my warranty related to ICE upgraded will not be covered.

I have also changed my rim to after market 20 inch. They also say the same thing.

I think it's only fair that they don't cover the warranty for the parts that're replaced/upgraded, not entirely void the warranty.

well technically they can but it up to them.. just like some insurance can void certain policies just because there are minor mods to the car.

all in the fine print and sometimes they even reserve the right to interpert it their way... so screwed every other way.. just enjoy the car and mods.

I'm thinking of just changing the speakers. But I was told if the bottleneck is the head unit, then the improvement is minimal.

Has anyone here just changed the speakers? Any marked improvement?

The guys at my regular ICE place refuse to touch the system.  So I ended up selling my whole set up....Amps, processor, sub, speakers.....sigh. So sayang.no

Jags are still in unfamiliar territory for our local workshops...
