Curiously, for those who are purchasing the new cats (post june), does your XF2.2d come as Standard Premium Luxury (i.e. OEM sound system like mine. ), or does it come with the Meridian sound system / GPS / all the bells and whistles?
I'm trying to see if they are throwing in all these add-ons, given the jump in price to $218K!
i doubt so.. it used to be 228k and i thought i saw before 238k, and its the same stuff.
the price increase is due to the new tax structure as well as COE fluctuation, not cos they up specced the car. lol.

I'm not sure if I am getting a good deal, mine comes with the Meridian sound system but no satnav!!! No option to add on too no bells no whistles... Not sure if zenkinz has got a better deal than I did.
i think mine is just the 10 speakers system (i.e. standard premium luxury) ... I guess you get what you pay for :)
I've got this non-stop, rapid ticking sound coming from my steering column whenever the car is in motion (at slow speed) and when the car is coming to a stop. At rest, the sound is evident too. All this when the engine is on, of course. It's irritating. Any of you guys experience this on your 2.2 diesels? My ride was registered 30 Jan 2013.

same here, did you mannage to solve it?
Yes. Apparently, they changed a faulty "heater hose" that was found inside the steering column... I haven't heard the sound since or maybe I'm just paying less attention to all these little nuances... Haha
Go for the XF 2.2 diesel as your daily drive in SG lah! You won't regret it! :)
Yes, for daily drive in Singapore, XF2.2D is very much affordable (running costs) and fun too. But may need a second car if driving into Malaysia, because of diesel issue.
Yo XFS57, I've been up north with my ride as far as KL and had no issues with pumping diesel as long as you top up not more than half of it per fill... I put in diesel from ESSO, Shell, Petronas and had no problems... Avoid caltex though as it supposedly has some sort of an element that can be harmful to our ride... I went up with a full tank of SG diesel and topped up after running down every quarter tank... No issues... In fact, if you search online, there are official press releases in MY that says the cars accept diesel from boleh land :)
Just refueled my 2nd tank of fuel. Mileage only managed 550km for 1st tank. Far cry from the 800+km claimed :( Jus wondering if tis is normal as engine hasn't run-in?
Also, do you guys experinence "knocking" sound from the rear brakes when you brake n release? I tend to hear this 'knocking" sound intermittently.

Engine run-in could be a factor but I don't think it's that big a deal... My first few refuels were already seeing about 700km per tank... Then it gradually got better and other best I did was 845km on 1 tank... The biggest determining factor is your driving style and of course the traffic conditions...

hmmm actually quite gentle with my right foot cos tot engine still new leh.... hopefully FC get better man.
yes the "knocking" sounded like "tok" (jus once) when u release the brake.

1st tank = 550km = at fuel red line? I think that's not too bad on first tank.
my first tank I cover only 400km at 2/3 mark, decided to pump it up, and 2nd tank I got about 650km before the low fuel indicator came on. depends on your driving style and also the traffic condition as chiaster has mentioned earlier. one quick way to compare is by looking what's your average speed that can tell the kind of traffic condition you have been through.
These days, I hit at least 700+km when the yellow indicator "low fuel level" pops up... From there, it's around another 100km +/- before the tank runs dry...
for me mostly start/stop traffic as i work in CBD. Traffic can be rather horrendous esp between 830-930am along Havelock Rd towards Raffles Place. Hopefully, FC gets better..... jus clocked 200km with 2/3 tank more to go.
ok I think that explains, generally speakin my observation is you should expect 30-40% efficiency gain (in terms of mileage) for using diesel over petrol, all else equal (i.e. driving style, traffic condition).
To some extent, the average speed in your speedometer reflects the traffic condition you typically drive in. Higher the average speed, assuming driving style is the same, your fuel consumption should improve.
@fchung, I also have the knocking sound at the rear when I do braking. Its intermittent though, I had thought it's the stuff in my boot that was rolling and knocking but now you mention again, maybe it's not.

yes it's intermittent. how long hv u havd ur car? mine's 3 weeks old.
for me 1st quater tank normally approx 160-180km, half tank 380km, 3rd quater 600km, and just before red line 750km.
top up to full is around 58-60 liters, so i can easily hit 800+ if i go till warning light.
this is a large tank in a large car... lower weights reaps better fuel efficiency.
Wha!!! You can go to 800+ before the yellow warning comes on??? How do you do it? And I thought my FC should be quite fantastic already... Hang on, are you still on stock 18" wheels?

Bros, I have asked the service person about the brake sound. According to him it's the set up. Nothing wrong And they can't do anything about it.
Btw...I get about 750-800km on a full tank. The readings I get from the trip computer ranges from 5.2l/100km to 7.5l/100km.

yes i still on stock 18 wheels and stock Pzero tires... to be fair i do not do regular office hours driving thru city traffic... only weekends hit orchard road traffic.
That could explain it... Stock 18" and smooth traffic conditions for most parts of the week... I'm on 20" lah so I think 850km per tank is pretty good already...
just sent car in for annual service at 11 months/16800 km
fixed slight fault in my drivers seat.. squeaking sound, pax door slight rattling sound due some cables, replaced satnav HDD/IME unit due initialising faults.
rest is just regular service.
took 2 days due to my extra issues.. got car back and its like new..
acceleration feels crisp and car sounded quieter. nice. purrrrrrfect

do you have an itemised invoice of the servicing? Like to see what has been changed/replaced.
post warranty i think with our 2.2D we can easily stretch servicing to 1-1.5yrs at 20-25000km
and though not itemised.. i can see my oil, brake fluids are new and topped up, brakes, brake disc and rim all cleaned to a shine. some cable clips in engine compartment replaced etc.
I do servicing every 12k... Alternate between Wearnes and external workshop... The more frequent you service your ride, the more problem free it will be... :)
