Something happen to my XF today for the first time . Started the car in the afternoon, after 2 seconds, the rpm dropped to 500rpm or less and the whole car started vibrating. Feels like a manual car that is about to stall, so i turn off the engine. After 2 mins, i started the car again and everything goes back to normal. So i started driving for about 200m and i realise there was quite a huge amount of white smoke coming out only from my left exhaust.

my air con vent has rattling sound and cricket sound for some time.. wearnes and auto bolt didnt do anything.. suggest me to live with it as its a big job just to remove and check.

Not to check sounds bad...its weird they are planning to help you.
Mechanic said there wasn't any issue with the car, they couldn't find the problem but what they found is there is a lot of carbon in the engine and they cleared up for me. Meanwhile they ask me to continue to monitor.

I had a similar incident, driving from Serangoon to Ubi and engine vibrated at Ubi traffic junction when I stop at red light. Immediately put to "N" from "D" and it's fine. *touchwood* So far so good, no recurrence.
Spoke to a friend, he says it could be airflow sensor. Mixture of air and petrol for combustion not right at that moment.

Your car under warranty?
newbie11, if vehicle under warranty then insist wearnes to change it. I complained once that the air-con vent motor jutter while I start engine, SC claimed that he changed for me. *I mentioned claimed becuse I was not there to witness...LOL*
I encounter this once in a while. During morning start, 1st engage gear from "P" to "D", gear box jerked and produce a "TUT" sound. While vehicle under warranty, wearnes claim that they cannot replicate the problem. As my warranty ran out, I recently checked with Autobolt and Louis told me it's gearbox. Not sure anyone knows anything about this.

sounds like you have a spark plug problem. the exhaust mixture was too rich, thus alot of smoke. your car would sound and behave like a boxer engine, with a grumble, vibrates alot, but at higher RPM is better than lower RPM. power loss as well.
if the exhaust layout is dedicated from each xos bank, then white smoke coming out from single xos pipe alone would seem to confirm that. one side of your engine has (or had since its gine) a spark plug problem. i would suggest you go get it checked out since it could "go again" anytime. if ur plugs are fouled, perhaps a nice long drive at higher revs would allows the plugs to self-clean as a temporary measure.
