Jaguar F-Type with Firesand exterior and Black Design Packs live in L.A. 29.11.2012
Won't be out until 2016
Jaguar could be working on a 600 bhp F-Type which won't be out until at least 2016.
Power will come from a supercharged V8 5.0-liter engine, the same mill found under the hood of the recently introduced XJR and XKR-S GT. However, output is expected to be increased to around 600 bhp (447 kW), while torque should also go up from 502 lb-ft (680 Nm). Jaguar's boss Adrian Hallmark did not confirm this model but he did say the British marque plans on launching more limited edition models, following the footsteps of the XKR-S GT.
Hallmark added that while developing the XKR-S GT the firm's engineers experimented with more powerful variants of the supercharged V8 5.0-liter engine which means it is possible to squeeze more horsepower.
A preview concept is rumored to make an appearance later this year at Goodwood Festival of Speed, but the production version is still at least three years away.
