your dragonfly is obscenely good! OMG. that is damn PRO xia! care to share your lens and setting?
bro, that's a robber fly. this one I took it with my 5dm3 (earlier shots was taken with my 60d), 100mm macro with raynox magnifier, a flash + a diy diffuser.
I started late last year, macro photography is addictive, although I have not been shooting for more than 2 months already.
haha paiseh, i thot it looked like a dragonfly.. hehe..
crazy sharp man! i seriously think you'd win some stuff if you submit for competitions! the bee is very nice too!
No worries, i didnt knoe its name until fellow photographers told me. I nevef paid attention in biology classes when i was a student. Haha
Usually a shot like this takes many to achieve, for me, because got to manual focus at poor lighting and subjrct is usually no more than 1-3cm big. I am sure the competiton level have better shots than this, mine is really amaturist, i got a friend who take even better shot than me using his sony nex. Key thing for macro photography is steady hand (at 10cm away from a 1-3cm subject, not easy to keep focus even with manual), flash lighting (need to throw ligt on thr subject directly) and patience...
wow Zenkinz that's really nice! I am not into bugs but the playful dogs snap is lovely.
do consider conducting some practical outing and guide us along.
thanks for making this thread live again!
cheers!
later i go post a few of my and friends dog candid shots.
